In July, 2002, we finally made the trek to Australia to visit Lachlan and all our other Aussie buds. The trip started with a week in Sydney. We stayed with Lachlan and Ilde at their apartment. What wonderful hosts they were.

Skytram over the Three Sisters
The Great Barrier Reef, where we spent two days out on a boat snorkling.
Tjapukai Aboriginal Cultural Center in Cairns. We learned how to throw a boomerang, chuck a spear and play a digeridoo. We were not very successful at any.
We rode a skytram through the rainforest to the town of Kuranda. Kuranda is a quaint mountain resort town where we did lots of shopping, toured a butterfly sanctuary and pet lots of marsupials.
We took the Kuranda Scenic Railway back down the moutain through the rainforest. Saw lots of waterfalls and beautiful vistas all the way to the ocean.
